Learning French at the Catho

First thing that happened in my month there, was all students were assinged a group, which in turn would be your classmates. These classes would teach and improve your french. My class was focused on coversation and literacy. Our professor, Lucy, had topics for each day that would discuss or read about. She taught the entire class in french, unless she thought that we would better understand something if explained in english first. She even lent us a graphic novel for the weeks we were there. These classes w

ere three hours long 5 days a week, so if somebody didn't learn anything, they weren't paying enough attention.

Along with our language class, we had another one in the afternoons. This class was based on personal interests and level in french. I took French Movies and Cinema. This class was all about the who, what, where, and why of French movies. The class was all in french, and we had a daily movies to watch as homework. We watched in total around 20 movies. The movies were about various subjects and various genres, all of which had the class understand the culture, past and present, of France. These classes helped me to learn phrases, vocabulary and even better pronunciation.
